The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry adds value to the state of Alabama, the Southeast, the United States, and the world through excellent, effective, and efficient optometric and vision science education, research, service, and patient care programs. The school has thirty full-time and a dozen part-time faculty whose mission is to contribute exceptional ideas in optometric sciences and clinical practice through research and scholarship, and to fulfill the teaching mission of the School of Optometry with education and clinical training of optometry students, residents, and postdoctoral fellows.
