Dry eye treatment drop FDA approved in 2023 using 100% perfluorohexyloctane. The studies done show that the drop can stay in the eye, decreasing evaporation for up to 240 minutes, whereas standard water-based drops only last for a couple minutes. This increase in time spent on the eye can help to increase relief from dry eye symptoms while decreasing dosing and cost.
