The mission of the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry is to educate and prepare future leaders in optometry through excellence in education, patient care, and vision research. This is achieved in an environment committed to personal growth within a context of faith, human dignity and social justice. The UIW Rosenberg School of Optometry has been granted the pre-accreditation classification of “Preliminary Approval” by the ACOE of the AOA. “Preliminary Approval” is the only classification available to a new professional program. The has approval to begin student recruitment, selection and admissions, and to begin offering the professional Optometry program.
